ADMISSION

B.E. Electronics & Communication Engineering (Accredited by NBA)

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, established in 2000, offers a B.E. program in Electronics and Communication Engineering with an intake of 120 students, and M.E. program in Communication Systems. The Choice-Based Credit System (CBCS) curriculum offered is enriched with a wide array of fields including Professional Core, Industry-Integrated Courses, Life Skills, Soft Skills, Design Thinking, and Employment Enhancement Courses. Students can also pursue Minors and Honors Degrees. The department has collaborated with IBM and Hero Tessolve Semiconductor to offer industry-integrated courses. Students are equipped with multidisciplinary competencies through Value-Added Courses in technologies like Artificial Intelligence, IoT, VLSI, and Embedded Systems. The students are also supported with Internship opportunities and Industry oriented projects during their period of study.

The Department is a recognized Research Centre by Anna University for Ph.D. studies fostering robust research culture across diverse domains. The programme is accredited by NBA since 2007. Research grants from government bodies such as AICTE, ISRO, CSIR, IE(I), TNSCST, IEEE(M), Naan Mudhalvan, Government of Tamil Nadu have enabled the department to develop students’ creativity and intellectual skills in industry-relevant areas.

The Department has partnered with over 16 industries, including Intel, and established a Centre of Excellence in Embedded Systems and IoT. Additionally, it has created the "Competency Development Centre for Skill Development" in collaboration with Hero Tessolve Semiconductor to provide focused education and training in the semiconductor industry, equipping students and professionals with critical skills for career success.

The Department hosts three professional societies—IETE, IEEE, and IE(I)—with over 423 student members and 15 faculty members. These societies organize a range of professional events, providing students with opportunities aligned with industry and societal needs. Various Clubs are functional in the department to express the technical and non-technical skills of the student. The department guarantees placement opportunities for every deserving student, making it an ideal destination for quality technical education in Communication Engineering.
